The commission of a "Masterpiece Portrait" takes the creative process to the ultimate level by producing images that are artistic masterpieces, not just pictures.

The Process
1. Pre Portrait consultation
At this pre shooting consultation we will recommend clothing, posing and prop options. We also decide on the shooting location and discuss portrait themes. Additionally, presentation options such as " Natural Color", "Warm Tones" and "Selective Color" choices are made at this time.
2. The Session
The photo session is just the beginning of the creative process. Once images are selected they will be transformed from great portraits into works of art. The process involves flesh tone enhancements, retouching and contrast layering techniques that produce an almost three dimensional image. Mystical lighting effects, brown or sepia tone effects, and spot color effects are also executed at this point. The actual photo session may take up to 2 hours and we recommend an early AM scheduling as most people are at their best, especially children.
3. The Selection
Your selections can be made immediately after the photo session and at this time I can assist you with size choices as we look at the various areas within your home that would best highlight your Portraits. Via E-Mail, you may monitor the creative progress of your Portraits and after your final approval they will be finished using the highest quality materials available to insure future generations of enjoyment. All portraits are printed on 100% cotton rag watercolor art paper or artists canvas.

The Art

Flesh Tone Enhancements; These smooth out the skin's natural texture, pores and reduce blemishes. The skin tones actually glow with a dimensional look.

Mystical Lighting Effects: These effects further enhance your portrait through selective tone and density adjustments. Backgrounds fade away, highlights glow, wispy mist adds depth and dimension. Selective shading and highlighting, light casting, edge glows and casting shadows all continue the process of adding depth, and allow the subject to radiate outward while less important elements in the image recede.

The Presentation Options
Natural Color: Soft smooth tones and shades of your natural complexion.
Warm Tones: We can further enhance your image with a warm nostalgic feel with these effects.
Selective Color: once the image is converted to Sepia/Brown Tone, we can re-introduce color in selected areas such as within the skin tones only.

Your portraits will truly be more than just a photograph ... each image is an individual piece of art that you will proudly hang in your home and office.

The commission of a "Masterpiece Portrait" requires a creative fee of $160.00 which includes consultations, the photo session, enhancements and a digital slide show of all portraits taken during your session. A minimum print size of 16x20 is required with all sessions. Framing is available for all "Masterpiece Portraits"
